Though food insecurity has a number of causes, there are many solutions to aid those in need. Since 1994, there have been initiatives taken in school systems to feed millions of children across the country. Most recently in schools the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 provides nutritious meals for more children.  In addition to school initiatives, there are over 15,000 food banks, pantries, and soup kitchens in the United States. These programs serve those in need and allow others to donate their time in an effort to give back.
